Pleine Air in January

It seems today, as I look out on a fresh 3 inches of snow. ALL I WANT TO DO IS PAINT OUT! It's about 15 degrees out and am barely able to walk the dog let alone stand in the cold for hours and paint the grand landscape. HOWEVER, it is my every other thought!
So,I instead look out at the soft orange and blue and purple in the clouds and rising sky. I so appreciate the purple and turquoise in the snow on the trees. The reddish burnt sienna of the tree tops across the lake that tell me that they know in their roots, spring is coming...
In place of the walk to the perfect spot, and the scouting for a focal point, I take stock and make sure my kit is ready to go. My canvases are prepped, my gloves , paper towels and garbage sack are on board. I start to stage what goes out with me when I go, the cart, the bungees, the cooler. Even my hat and umbrella! All except my favorite tubes and brushes, Im ready. Im set to go....Maybe in March.
